The Zaza is a celebration of skillful carpentry and mindful joinery techniques.
Formed by Egyptian designers and artisans, much study, conversation and prototyping went into the proportions and the hand sculpted framework, relying on neither bolts nor screws, Zaza’s form generously sculpts around the body.
The legs are shaped using pre-industrial woodturning techniques and gently hearken to heritage mashrebeya forms. This traditional element fuses with the soft sweep of curve and taper in the back, seat and arm, emerging as a contemporary, expressive chair.
The Zaza has the potential to become either a powerful focal point or subtle layer within a space and is available in an array of stains and washes.
